Description
MACEDON, Chalkidian League. Olynthos. Circa 432-348 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23.5 mm, 14.33 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrate Aristonos, circa 350. Laureate head of Apollo with long hair to right. Rev. X-A-Λ-KIΔ-EΩN / EΠI AΡΙΣΤΩΝΟΣ Kithara. BMFA 582 ( same reverse die ). Robinson & Clement Group V, 131 (A81/ P111). SNG ANS 497. SNG Lockett 1314 ( same reverse die ). Head of Apollo of fine style, and well struck. Test mark and scratch on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
