Although many scholars tend to assign some issues of the series of Quintus Hortensius Hortalus to Dium, the coins were actually minted in the Roman Colony of Cassandrea, one of the oldest Roman colonies in the east. The cult of Zeus Ammon was already well attested in the area even before the Roman conquest.
