Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 25.5 mm, 2.05 g, 6 h), Thessalonica. Saint Demetrius standing facing, holding spear in right hand. Rev. Michael standing facing, holding long cross in right hand and large fleur-de-lis in left. DOC 176-9. SB 2306. Well centered and boldly struck. Very fine.
