Alexius I Comnenus, 1081-1118. Follis (Bronze, 28 mm, 6.94 g, 9 h), Thessalonica, 1081-1087. IC - XC / NI - KA Cross potent set on two steps; pellet at each termination of arm. Rev. +/CEP CVN/EPΓEI BA/CIΛEI AΛ/EZIω in five lines. DOC 19. SB 1911. Brown patina. Overstruck on a Romanus IV follis with the Virgin orans, SB 1866, otherwise, very fine.
