★ Rare Selinos Tetradrachm! ★
SICILY. Selinos. Circa 415-409 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 16.74 g, 11 h). Apollo and Artemis standing right in a quadriga moving slowly to right; Artemis holding the reins and Apollo drawing his bow; on the upper right field, wreath tied below; above exergue line shield set on ground (or scallop shell according to Schwabacher); in exergue, barley corn. Rev. ΣΕΛΙΝΟΝΤΙ-ΟΝ The river-god Selinos standing left, holding phiale over garlanded altar in right hand, laurel branch in left; before altar, a rooster standing left; to right, selinon leaf over a bull standing left on a base.
