Description
MACEDON. Neapolis . Circa 500-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 18 mm, 8.90 g). Gorgoneion facing with extended tongue. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Dewing 1064. HGC 3.1 582. SNG ANS 405-408. Very rare; with an attractive dark tone. Die break on obverse , otherwise, very fine.
From a European collection formed before 2010.
