Description

Constantine X Ducas, 1059-1067. Histamenon (Gold, 25 mm, 4.42 g, 5 h), Constantinople. +IhI XIS REX REGNANThIm Christ, nimbate, seated facing on straight-backed throne, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left. Rev. + KωN BACIΛ O ΔOVKAC Constantine standing facing, wearing crown and loros, holding, with his right hand, labarum with pellet on shaft, and, in his left, a globus cruciger. DOC 1b. SB 1847. Well centered on a broad flan. Some striking flatness , otherwise, good very fine.
