Severus Alexander, 222-235. Denarius (Silver, 21 mm, 3.16 g, 12 h), Rome, 232. IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG Laureate head of Severus Alexander to right, drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. PROVIDENTIA AVG Providentia standing front, head to left, holding two grain ears in her right hand and cornucopiae with her left; on ground to left, modius. BMC 875. Cohen 501 var. RIC 250. Toned and struck on a broad flan. Partially uncleaned as found , otherwise, about extremely fine.
From the Stoecklin Collection, from the collection of Dr. Lesic in Belgrad, and from the Niš Hoard of the early 1930s ("Niška Kamenc").
