Description

Vespasian, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.07 g, 5 h), "Judaea Capta" type, Antioch, 72-73. IMP [CAES VESP AV]G P M COS IIII Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. Palm tree; to left, Vespasian standing right, holding spear and parazonium, foot on helmet; to right, Judaea seated in attitude of mourning to right, her head resting on her hand. RIC 1558. Cohen 645. RPC II 1930. Obverse slightly off centre , otherwise, nearly very fine.
From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired prior to 1975.
