Description

Galba, 68-69. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 26.86 g, 5 h), Rome, circa October 68. SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG TR P Laureate head of Galba to right. Rev. LIBERTAS PVBLICA / S C Libertas standing facing, head to left, holding pileus in her right hand and long scepter with her left. BMC -. Cohen 108. Kraay Officina CI (cf. P136). RIC 387. Well centered and with a dark brown/green patina. Some smoothing and a minor flan crack , otherwise, very fine.
From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired from Bank Leu in Zürich prior to 1975.
