THESSALY. Trikka. Circa 440-400 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.42 g, 7 h), struck under the magistrate Euph.... EY Youthful male head to left. Rev. ΤΡ - ΙΚ-K Forepart of horse to left; all within shallow incuse square. Seemingly unpublished but from the same dies as Nomos 21, 2020, 147. Very rare. Nicely centered. Traces of corrosion, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
The letters EY were previously known at Trikka from their appearance on hemidrachms (BCD II 767) and on obols (BCD II 778.4 and 779.4), so it is by no means surprising to find them on a hemiobol: they are clearly the initials of the individual responsible for the issue.
