Description

CELTIC, Middle Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 12.35 g, 2 h), The ‘Kroisbach’ type, with diadem and ‘Reiterstumpf’, Burgenland or Western Slovakia. Diademed, beardless male head to right. Rev. Horse prancing to left with the torso of a rider on his back; below, caduceus to left. CCCBM I, xlvii, b, 153. Lanz 743. Nanteuil 26. OTA 469. Lovely deep toning and fine example with sharp details. Extremely fine.
