CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Namnetes. Circa 150-100 BC. Stater (Electrum, 25 mm, 7.27 g, 3 h), from the area of Nantes. Male head to right, hair arranged in large locks with a beaded cord around. Rev. Human-headed horse galloping to right, with a charioteer behind right; below, a male figure with his head to right, grasping two of the horse's legs. DT 2185. LT 6728. Very rare, and a particularly attractive example. Good very fine.
