Description
KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos II Gonatas, 277/6-239 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33.5 mm, 17.09 g, 9 h), "dramatic style", Amphipolis, circa 252/1-246. Horned head of Pan to left, within the center of a Macedonian shield. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding left; to left, Macedonian helmet with transverse crest; to right, monogram of EYPM. Panagopoulou Period II, Group 12, 46 (O03/R45). Relatively scarce monogram for this period. Very fine.
