ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Samothrace. 3rd-2nd centuries BC. (Bronze, 18 mm, 4.86 g, 11 h), struck under the magistrate Python. Bust of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet. Rev. ΣΑΜΟ ΠΥΘΟ Kybele seated to left, holding phiale in right hand and long scepter in left. BMC 4. HGC 322. SNG Copenhagen 999. Dark green patina. Very fine.
