Description
SICILY. Akragas . Circa 500-495 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 19 mm, 8.80 g, 6 h). AKRACANTOΣ Eagle standing left. Rev. Crab seen from above. Jenkins, Gela group III. SNG ANS 930 (same obverse die). Toned and well centered. Some scratches , otherwise, good very fine.
From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired in Agrigento in 1931.
