Description

THESSALY. Phalanna. Circa 360-340 BC. Trihemiobol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.23 g, 3 h). Youthful male head to right with short, curly hair, perhaps Peloros (?). Rev. ΦΑΛ-ΑΝ-Ν-ΑΙΩ-Ν Bridled horse trotting right, with curly tail. BCD Thessaly II 571 ( same dies ). HGC 4, 168. Toned, clear and quite attractive. Some porosity, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of a Nobleman who died in 1940.
