Description

THESSALY. Larissa. Mid to late 4th century BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 20.5 mm, 8.67 g, 12 h). Head of the nymph Larissa, three-quarter facing to left, wearing ampyx and pearl-drop earring. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ - Σ - ΑΙΩΝ Bridled horse trotting to right; below, grain ear. Cf. BCD Thessaly II 387.8 ( E above horse ). HGC 4, 517. Rogers 279. Dark brown and tan patina. Nearly extremely fine.
