Description

SICILY. Unlocated Punic mint. Circa 350-300 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 16.88 g, 11 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing grain wreath, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, four dolphins. Rev. M ( Punic ) Horse's head to left; behind, date palm. De Luynes 1466 ( same dies ). Jenkins, Punic, 242 (O75/R205). SNG Lockett 1054. A wonderful coin of fine style, struck from dies prepared by an engraver of great skill. Nearly extremely fine.
