THRACE. Philippopolis. Hadrian, 117-138. Assarion (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.41 g, 12 h). ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟC CΕΒΑCΤΟC Bare head of Hadrian to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ Naked hero standing left, holding shield on on left arm and spear in left hand. RPC III 751. SNG Copenhagen 765. Varbanov 632. Well-centered and with a thick green patina. Very fine.
