Description
ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Chios. Circa 133-88 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 3.80 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Hermophantos. Sphinx seated left; in field to left, bunch of grapes. Rev. XIOΣ / ΕΡΜΟΦΑΝΤΟΣ Chian amphora within ivy wreath. Mavrogordato 66α; SNG Copenhagen -. Toned. Light porosity. Good very fine.
