ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Chios. Circa 290-100 BC. (Bronze, 13.5 mm, 2.94 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Artemes. Sphinx seated right, left forepaw raised; to right, grape bunch. Rev. ΧΙΟΣ / ΑΡΤΕΜΗΣ Amphora within wreath. Cf. HGC 6, 1157 ( magistrate not listed ). Cf. SNG Copenhagen 1610-1 ( magistrate ). Dark green patina. Nearly very fine.
