Description

Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 20mm, 3.84 g 6), Spanish mint (Colonia Caesaraugusta?), 19-18 BC. AVGVSTVS CAESAR Head of Augustus to left, wearing oak wreath. Rev. DIVVS IVLIVS to left and right of eight-rayed comet with tail upwards. BMC 326. BN 1298. Cohen 97. RIC 37b. Attractive and boldly struck on a broad flan. Some striking flatness on the obverse, otherwise , nearly extremely fine.
