Description

ATTICA, Athens. Circa 430s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 17.19 g 5). Head of Athena to right, wearing disc earring, pearl necklace and a crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and a spiral palmette. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing the viewer; to left, olive sprig and crescent moon; all within an incuse square. Agora 8b. An attractive, well centered example, but with a tiny test mark on the obverse. About extremely fine.

From a Swiss collection, acquired c. 2000 from UBS.
