Description

CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 480-470 BC. Nomos (Silver, 16mm, 7.81 g). ΤΑRΑϞ ( retrograde ) Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin to right; below, scallop. Rev. Wheel of four spokes. Fischer-Bossert 80h ( this coin ). HN III 833. Toned as found but with slightly rough surfaces, nevertheless well struck and well centered. Nearly extremely fine.
