Sicily. Gela. Circa 480/75-475/70 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 18 mm, 8.78 g, 2 h). Bearded horseman galloping to right, nude but for his tall helmet, hurling spear with his upraised right hand. Rev. CΕΛΑΣ Forepart of man-headed bull to right. Jenkins, Gela 86.6 (this coin). An attractively toned coin of fine style. Obverse struck from a worn and cracked die, and unimportant die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
