Description

BRUTTIUM. Carthaginian occupation. Circa 215-205 BC. Half-Shekel (Silver, 18.5 mm, 3.66 g, 4 h), struck during the Second Punic War. Head of Tanit to left, wearing grain wreath and pendant earring. Rev. Horse standing to right; above, uraei; below, Punic ayin. HN Italy 2016. SNG Copenhagen 361 (North Africa) and 1007 (Sicily). Scratch and die-break on reverse, light porosity, otherwise, very fine.
