BYZANTINE SEALS. Theodoros pragmateutes, Circa 10th century. Seal or Bulla (Lead, 21 mm, 6.51 g, 12 h). A pair of peacocks, turning their heads backwards to face each other. Between them floral motive. Rev. ✷/+ΘEO/ΔOPOY/ ΠPAΓM/TEYT/✷ in six lines. Seemingly unpublished. A fascinating iconographic seal with a very unusual and rare depiction. Good fine.
