Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 26.5 mm, 2.24 g, 6 h), Constantinople. Half-length figure of St. Theodore facing, holding spear across chest in right hand. Rev. Michael standing facing, holding cruciform scepter in right hand and akakia in left, being crowned by Christ standing facing. DOC 79-81. LPC 13. PCPC 31. SB 2270. Brown patina. Edge splits, otherwise, very fine.
