SICILY. Syracuse. Philistis, wife of Hieron II, 275-215 BC. 16 Litrai (Silver, 26 mm, 13.54 g, 2 h), 218/7-214. Diademed and veiled bust of Philistis to left; behind, star. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑΣ / ΦΙΛΙΣΤΙΔΟΣ Nike driving quadriga walking to right; above, star; to right, [Κ]. SNG ANS 850. SNG Lloyd 1545. Nicely toned. Some marks and striking faults, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
