ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 411-340 BC. Drachm (Silver, 14.5 mm, 3.52 g, 8 h). Bearded head of Dionysos to left, wearing ivy wreath with berries at his forehead. Rev. ΘΑΣΙΟ-Ν Herakles, wearing lion's skin headdress and short hunting chiton, kneeling to right, shooting his bow; to right, caduceus. HGC 6, 344. Le Rider, Thasiennes 19. West 21. Nicely toned and with a particularly fine head of Dionysos. Reverse very lightly double-struck, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
