Lusignan Kingdom of Cyprus. Janus, 1398-1432. Gros (Silver, 27 mm, 4.47 g, 1 h), "Gros grand". + IANVS• PAR LA [GRACE DE D]IE• RO[I] King Janus facing seated on wide throne, holding a lis-scepter in his right hand and an orb in his left; to right, shield bearing the royal arms (Lusignan nouveau = plain cross in the 1st quarter, lion rampant to left in the other three); in the field to left, reversed S. Rev. +D' IERVSALEM• D' CIPRE• D ARMENIA Cross of Jerusalem: a large cross potent with a cross pattée in each quarter and with four incuse pellets at the center. Metcalf p. 214, 13.
