Description

Vespasian, 69-79. Aureus (Gold, 18 mm, 7.33 g, 6 h), Rome, 77-78. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG Laureate head of Vespasian to left. Rev. COS VIII Vespasian, in military dress, standing left, holding spear with his right hand and parazonium in his left; behind him to right, Victory standing left, crowning him with a wreath held in her right hand and holding a palm branch with her left. BMC 205. BN 183. Calicó 625a. RIC 936. Very attractive and sharp. Good extremely fine.

From an old collection in Davos, Grisons, formed before the 1990s.
