Mysia
Kyzikos. Circa 500-450 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 8 x 12 mm, 2.64 g). An infant boy, probably Herakles, nude, seated facing, his head turned to right, propping himself up with his left hand while holding tunny by the tail with his right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Hurter & Liewald II 169. Jameson 2201. SNG Paris 316 (stater). Von Fritze 169 (stater). Extremely rare denomination. Clear, most attractive and free from the obverse die rust that disfigures some other known examples. Extremely fine.
