Thessaly
Larissa. Circa 365-356 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 12.26 g, 1 h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing, turned slightly to the left, wearing ampyx, pendant earring, and simple necklace. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ - ΣΑΙΩΝ Bridled horse trotting to right, with curly tail. Lorber o12/R3 (one of six known examples, but this piece not listed by Lorber). A very attractive, sharply struck and nicely toned coin. Struck on a slightly oddly-shaped flan, otherwise, extremely fine.
From a Swiss collection, acquired prior to 2005 and said to have been in collections since c. 1980.
