Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.32 g, 9 h), Lampsakos, 328-323. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on throne, his feet on a footstool, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, Artemis Phosphoros standing facing, holding two torches; below throne, monogram of ΔIO. Price 1355. Very attractive, lustrous and boldly struck in high relief. Good extremely fine.
