Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.61 g, 10 h), Amphipolis, circa 330-320. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with serpent. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Nike standing left, holding wreath in her right hand and stylis in her left; to left, trident head downwards. Price 172. Clear and of fine style. Nearly extremely fine.
