Apollonia Pontika. Circa 480/78-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 9.78 g, 10 h). AΠO-Λ[ΛΩN] Upright anchor; in field to left, crayfish swimming upwards to right. Rev. Facing gorgoneion. HGC 1320 (this coin). SNGBM -. Cf. Tkalec October 1994, 53 (same dies). Topalov 2007, 37. Extremely rare. Attractively toned and with a dramatic gorgoneion. Struck on an irregular flan, otherwise, about extremely fine/extremely fine.
