Syracuse. Fifth Democracy, 214-212 BC. 6 Litrai (Silver, 20 mm, 5.13 g, 11h). Bearded head of Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ / ΜΙ Nike, holding goad in her right hand and the reins in her left, driving biga galloping to right. Burnett, Enna 40 (same dies). Rare. Very attractively toned and well-struck, a particularly fine example of this series. Extremely fine.
