Sicily
Piakos. Circa 425-420 BC. Tetras or Trionkion (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.02 g, 9 h). Π Ι Α Κ Head of a youthful river god to left, wearing a wreath of reeds and with a horn above his forehead; to left, three pellets; to right, leaf. Rev. Dog springing right on the back of a doe collapsing to right; to right, and left, wheat grain. AMB 397. CNS 2. HGC 1101. Rizzo pl. LX, 14. Rare. With a smooth, dark brown patina. About extremely fine.
