Sicily
Himera (as Thermai Himerensis). 4th century BC. Litra (Silver, 11.5 mm, 0.57 g, 9 h). ΘEPMITA-N Head of Hera to right, wearing stephane decorated with three palmettes. Rev. Herakles, seated left on a rock draped with a lion's skin, with a club in his right hand and his left resting on the rock; behind to right, bow. Campana 2A. Jenkins, Punic pl. 22, 7 var (denomination). SNG ANS 1341. Weber 1365. Rare. Of very good late Classical style. Areas of corrosion and struck on an uneven flan, otherwise, good very fine.
