Sicily
Entella, serving as a Punic mint. Punic issues, circa 300-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.98 g, 3 h). Head of Herakles- Melqart to right, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. mhmhnt Horse’s head to left; behind, date palm. Jenkins 285 (O91/R234). SNG Lockett 1055 (this obverse die). Sharp, lustrous and very attractive. Minor die fault on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.

From a collection in the Ticino formed prior to 2000.
