LUCANIA. Poseidonia. Circa 470-445 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 8.00 g, 4 h). ΠΟΜΕS Poseidon striding to right, brandishing trident and with chlamys over his shoulders. Rev. ΠΟΜΕS (retrograde) Bull standing to right on dotted ground line; in exergue, (retrograde) SA. HN III 1114. SNG ANS 649 var (SA on exergue). An attractive stater of Poseidonia, toned and well-struck; very rare variation. Very fine.
