Description
KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.89 g). Tyre mint. Struck under Demetrios Poliorketes, circa 301-286 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, monogram in circle set on line; below throne, Λ above strut, monogram in circle below strut.
