Description
KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). Tetradrachm.(24mm, 16.8 g) Babylon I. Struck under Seleukos I Nikator. Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin. Rev: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / AΛEΞANΔPOY. Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and sceptre. Controls: MI and thunderbolt in left field; below throne, monogram within wreath.
