Description
Seleucid Kingdom. Antiochus VII. 138-129 BC. Tetradrachm, (30mm, 16.1 g) Antioch on the Orontes, c. 129 BC. Obv: Diademed head of Antiochus VII right, diadem ends falling straight behind. Fillet border. Rx: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟV ΕVΕΡΓΕΤΟV Athena standing left holding Nike and resting left hand on shield behind her, while spear leans against her left arm. In outer left field, two monograms. All within laurel wreath.
