Description

Sicily, Syracuse Tetradrachm circa 480-475, AR 25mm, 17.28 g. Slow quadriga driven right by charioteer holding reins with both hands; above, Nike flying right to crown horses. Rev. ΣVRAKO – ΣI – O – N Pearl-diademed head of Arethusa right, wearing beaded necklace; around, four dolphins. SNG ANS 29 (same obv. die). Boehringer 116.

A very attractive potrait, old cabinet tone and about extremely fine. Sold with an export licence issued by the Republic of Italy.
