AN INTERESTING COLLECTION OF ROMAN REPUBLICAN COINS FORMED BY AN ENGLISH AMATEUR SCHOLAR
Quadrigatus circa 225-212, AR 6.49 g. Laureate Janiform head of Dioscuri. Rev. Jupiter in quadriga l. driven by Victory; in exergue, ROMA incuse on raised tablet. Sydenham 64b. RBW 82. Crawford 34/1 (cf. pl. IV, 15).
A very rare type with only one example illustrated in Crawford. Struck on a
very broad flan and with a lovely old cabinet tone. Extremely fine
