Nomos circa 435-400, AR 7.72 g. Head of Athena r., wearing crested Attic helmet, bowl decorated with griffin. Rev. [UELHT]WN Lion r., pulling down stag; below, dotted exergual line. SNG Lloyd 518 (this coin). SNG Ashmolean 420 (this coin). Williams 154o (this coin illustrated).
Very rare and among the finest specimens known. A very interesting reverse
composition and a superb old cabinet tone. Extremely fine
