Syracuse. 10 litrae circa 214-212 under the Democracy, AR 8.45 g. Female head l., wearing barley wreath, earring and necklace; behind, lighted torch. Rev. ΣYPAKOΣION Zeus, naked to waist and head r, standing facing holding spear; in l. field, XAP / eagle standing facing with open wings. BMC 661 (these dies). de Luynes 1394 (these dies). Burnett, SNR 62, pl. 10, 38 (these dies). Exceedingly rare, apparently only the seventh specimen known. Light iridescent tone, usual traces of overstriking on reverse, otherwise about extremely fine / good very fine
